This 8 week course is suitable for all. MBCT for Depression is the only form of mindfulness formally recommended by the NHS (National Institute of Clinical Excellence). It has been found to be as effective as anti-depressants in preventing relapse for people who have already experienced two or more episodes of depression. While it is especially suitable for people whose depression is relatively stable, or going through a phase of relative or full recovery, everyone can benefit from these sessions, especially if you would like to prevent future relapse or further lowering of mood states.
Paying this £50 deposit holds your place. The remainder can be paid at the orientation session. If you change your mind at the orientation session then your deposit can be refunded in full. The full course fee is £230. This works out at only £8.80 per hour. Total discounts of up to 33% off full course fees are available when paying the balance for students (25%), key workers (NHS/Council 15%) and retired people (20%) which can reduce rates to less than £6 per hour.
When comparing Mindful Edinburgh (MBCT) courses with other courses you may wish to check if they include the following:

Individual mindfulness sessions can take place where you work. Simply book a room for us to meet where you are unlikely to be disturbed. An initial session is one hour.
One to one sessions could be:
- a chance to meet and for you to get a taste for what mindfulness can offer.
- tailored sessions for a personal practice, one which may have been started through reading or an online course or app.
- an 8 week course, of 1.5 hours per session.
- coming in January 2018, a Mindfulness Essentials course over five weeks of one hourly session per week.
